On Your Visit

Can we take photos?

Photography for personal use is encouraged, however it is not permitted for commercial use.

How long does it take to look around?

On average, visitors can spend up to 2 hours taking a tour, exploring the exhibitions and interactives.

Do you offer Guided Tours?

Individuals do not need to book a tour. Our volunteer Gallery Attendants are always happy to show you around and tailor their talk to your interests.

If you are visiting as part of a group or would like to book a private tour these will need to be requested at least two weeks ahead of your proposed visit and are subject to availability.

Dogs

Can I bring my Dog to the Museum?

Service dogs are welcome in the Museum.

Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted inside. There are no suitable spots for securing your pet outside of the building and you are unable to leave them in the reception area.

Events

When are the upcoming Special Event days?

We run Special Events and talks you can view them on our What’s On page.

Facilities

Do you have a café or picnic area?

We do not have a café or picnic area. However, there are numerous cafés and restaurant locations nearby

Is there WiFi?

There is free WiFi throughout Museum.

Are Lifts available in the Museum?

Yes, there is lift access to the Museum.

What about toilets?

There are toilets on every floor, including disabled toilets

Visiting with Children

What are the facilities for babies?

Yes, we have a baby changing area available. Upon request it may be possible to provide hot water to warm up milk for babies.

Are Buggies allowed in the Museum?

Yes, we welcome visitors with young children and buggies to come and enjoy the Museum. There is an accessible entrance and lift.

What happens during School Holidays?

During School Holidays we run special activities for children during the Easter, Summer and October Half Terms.

Parking

Do you have free parking?

The Museum does not offer onsite parking. Metered street parking is available. Please allow additional time to find parking if you require it.
